Requirements

  • A server running Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04, or Debian 12, on 64-bit x86 (amd64) or ARM (arm64). The installer accepts any Ubuntu or Debian release, but only these three are tested.
  • Root access, or a user who can run sudo.
  • Memory: 2 GB recommended, 1 GB at the least. Under 2 GB, the installer adds a 2 GB swap file at /swapfile when the server has no swap. Under about 1 GB, it stops.
  • Ports 80 and 443 free. Caddy, which comes with Eddyline, uses them to serve the app and to get a certificate.
  • A domain name, for example tracker.acme.com, with a DNS A record pointing at the server’s public IP address. Set this up before you install, or right after: Caddy can only get a certificate once the domain points at the server.
  • Disk: a few GB. Attachments are stored in the database, so the disk grows with what your team uploads.

The installer installs Docker Engine and the Compose plugin from Docker’s apt repository when they are missing.
