Eddyline sends mail for invites, password resets and issue notifications. It uses your mail service, so nothing goes through SectorFlow.
SMTP #
Set SMTP_URL to your provider’s connection URL, for example smtps://user:password@smtp.example.com:465, and set MAIL_FROM to the address mail should come from. You can pass both to the installer with --smtp-url and --mail-from, or set them later:
eddy config
eddy config opens .env in your editor and restarts the app when you save. Percent-encode any @, / or : in the password.
SendGrid #
If SMTP_URL is not set and SENDGRID_APIKEY is, Eddyline sends through SendGrid.
With no mail set up #
If neither is set, mail is written to the log and not sent. Staff see a banner: “Email is not set up. Invites and password resets are not sent.” You can still run the workspace:
- On the members page of a project, pending invites have a Copy invite link button. Send the link yourself.
- On
/admin/users, each row has Copy reset link, which shows a password reset link once.
Only users who may invite see these links, and the tokens are never logged.
Test it #
/admin/settings shows which transport is active in the Email section and has a Send test email button.
Mail leaves the server only when mail is sent. See what leaves the server.
