Issues
Draft. This page is written from the product plan and has not been checked against a release.
Every issue has a key made of the project key and a number, such as ACME-12. The number is never reused. Open the Issues page of a project for the list, and use New issue to create one if your role allows it.
Creating and editing #
- Types are task, bug, story and epic. An epic groups other issues of the same project, which show under it as child issues. An epic cannot have a parent.
- Priority runs from lowest to highest.
- Status is one of the project’s statuses. Change it with the Status select on the issue page, or by dragging the card on the board. Moving into a Done status marks the issue resolved, and moving it out clears that.
- Assignee can be changed in the issue sidebar, and by clicking the assignee on a row of the list or a card on the board.
- Labels are free text tags. Eddyline suggests labels already used in the project.
- Due date is optional. Overdue issues show on the dashboard of the person they are assigned to.
- Title and description are edited in place. The description is Markdown.
Comments and mentions #
Comment at the bottom of the issue. You can edit or delete your own comments, and project admins and staff can delete any. Type @ at the start of a word to pick a person from the project. Mentioned users get an email.
Attachments #
Drop a file anywhere on the issue page, or use Attach file. Each file can be up to 20 MB. Images and PDFs open in the browser and other files download. You can remove files you uploaded, and project admins and staff can remove any.
History and moving #
The History section lists every change with who made it and when. To move an issue to another project, change the Project select in the sidebar. The issue gets the next number there, keeps its comments, attachments, time and history, and the old link redirects to the new one. Its status is matched by name, or becomes the default status of the new project, and its parent is cleared. An epic that has children cannot move.
The issue list #
The list shows key, type, title, status, priority, assignee and when the issue was updated. If you may see time in the project it also shows the estimate and the time logged. Click a header to sort. Filters sit above the table: search by title or key, status, type, priority, assignee, label, and Open only, which is on by default and hides Done issues.
Filters and sort live in the address, so you can share the link. Eddyline also remembers your last filters for each project. Use Clear filters to forget them.
Search #
The search box in the top bar finds issues and docs in the projects you can see. Press Ctrl+K, Cmd+K or / to jump to it. You can search by words in a title or description, by an issue key such as ACME-12, or by a bare number. Comments are not searched.
