Clients and roles
Draft. This page is written from the product plan and has not been checked against a release.
Your clients need to see their project without costing you a team member. Clients are free and unlimited on every edition. See licence and team members.
Roles #
Staff are the users on your staff email domains. Everyone else joins a project by invite and has one role per project: admin, member or client. The project settings page lists who has which role.

What clients see #
Clients only see projects they were invited to. Two project settings decide what they get beyond the basics: whether they can create issues, and whether they can see time and estimates. Clients never see Internal docs.
Inviting users #
In project settings, open Members, invite someone by email with a role (the default is Client), change a member’s role, or remove them. The person gets an email with a link. If they already have an account they are simply added. If mail is not set up, copy the invite link instead. See email.
Changing a role from client to admin or member adds a team member.
